Friday Flash Freebie!

It’s that time again!

fridayfreebie

Time for another flash freebie! Today I’m giving away a product I haven’t even put in my stores yet! (Do you feel special?) It is a More or Less Mini Unit and it aligns with Common Core Standards for 1st Grade Math. There are 5 activities that help your students practice finding 1, 5, and 10 more or less. I created this product because this was one of the things my firsties seemed to struggle with last year. I hope you enjoy it!

As you may or may not know, I am a first grade teacher so most of the things that I created are K-2. However, if you have a friend or co-worker that may benefit from this, please scoop it up for them. The freebie will be open from 9:30 to 10:30!!! If you miss this freebie, it will be in my TPT store and TN store later on!

Remember that you must leave an email address or I can’t send it to you. That is the only required item to enter the freebie giveaway.

Two last notes... I’m gearing up for my store/blog anniversary next month. I have some wonderful people lined up to give away some awesome items so make sure you check back in the next week or so for all of the details. Also, I will be having a 4th of July sale at my TPT and TN store, so check for that as well!

Enjoy your weekend!

Pin-Up Thursdays

Happy Thursday! It’s another installment of

linkupthursday

Here’s what I found for today:

Modify this idea so it is first grade appropriate

It is a great classroom tool for displays goals, not just writing. In this particular pin, the teacher displays various writing goals, and the students use tabs to mark what goals they want to reach. I think this is a wonderful idea and it is student-led!

What have you found this week on Pinterest that you have found useful for the classroom? Post the link below and I’ll re-pin on my Pinterest page as well!

Pin-Up Thursday

Greetings! So unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know about Pinterest! I love Pinterest!!!

You can find my pinboards here by the way. Pinterest is great for educators because there are so many great ideas out there, and Pinterest lets you find ideas and put it in an organized place. Of course it has tons more…

So…

I’ve decided to try a new thing for Thursdays where I ask you to post a link to something interesting that you’ve found on Pinterest. It can be something quirky you’ve found for the classroom, a cool project idea, or anything else education/classroom/teacher related. I’m also testing out InLinkz so please bear with me if something isn’t working correctly. Once you find something from Pinterest, simply leave the name of the pin, the Pinterest url where you found it, and a picture of the item you want to showcase. It will be a great way to share things from Pinterest. Also, if you’d like to leave the url to your own Pinterest board in the comments, I will make sure to find you and and follow.

Here’s my link for Pin-Up Thursday. My principal at my old school introduced us to exit tickets which basically assess what your kids got out of the lesson. It helps you as a teacher see who got it and who didn’t, which helps guide any review or group work you have to do after the lesson. This pin shows what a teacher used for her ticket out of the door as she calls it. It’s a poster with a question at the top. The students use sticky notes to write their responses, and the teacher has set up a numbering system so she knows who said what. Very cool!

School is over!

It’s summer time but we as teachers know that we never truly have a “real” break. I plan to work on my stores, blog, pinterest, all while working on my new classroom in my new school AND preparing for a baby! What a summer huh? Leave a comment and let me know what you are doing this summer!

Well next month will be special because I’ll be celebrating my TPT store anniversary. Almost a year ago I started my journey on TPT and it’s been a great one. Also, I’m getting close to 100 followers at my TPT store. So check back for a anniversary sale and a huge giveaway next month.

Before I leave, I have a new product in my stores. If you’ve never used QR codes, you should! You may have seen them in magazines and newspapers, but they are actually quite fun to use and make for the classroom. My firsties created them this year during our study of ocean animals. Their QR codes listed a fun fact about the ocean animal that they researched. OMG my kids loved it!! So I have a new FREE product in my store that will help your students practice their addition facts. Check it out and leave some comments and ratings!
