I Survived the Lock-In!

Talk about work!! That lock-in was no joke! I worked pretty hard in my classroom but I still have TONS to do! AHH!!

So a lot of people commented on the last post about what the lock in was all about. I’ve heard of lock-ins for churches and such. Ours was the same concept. My principal emailed everyone with the idea and asked us what day would be best. We all emailed her back and the date with the most votes was chosen. The lock-in was kind of like a back-to-school activity and work day all bundled in one! We worked in our classrooms from 6 PM until midnight. We were encouraged to bring a friend, and our principal even provided food (which of course lured me! haha!). Overall it was a lot of fun and it was great to see my colleagues and see their rooms. I love that our principal had this event!

So even though I got a lot of work done, I still have some more work to do. I plan on working in our media center tomorrow morning and then heading to my classroom. I’ll post some pics later!

Thanks again to all of my new followers! I appreciate it so very much. If you aren’t a follower of my TPT page, I would love you forever for doing so. I’ll return the favor of course if you just let me know. Speaking of TPT, I have a new product listing. It is a telling time mega pack with a lot of nifty things. So check it out! Have a buzzin’ good day!!

Is Summer Really Almost Over?

Am I just realizing that? lol! Not really but I started freaking out because I haven’t even stepped foot into my classroom  yet! Mind you, I’ve been working like crazy to get things together at my house and at our parish media center, but I haven’t been to my class yet. Our new principal came up with an awesome idea though. Tomorrow we are having a lock-in. All of the teachers will work in their rooms all night to get things together. Unfortunately I don’t have anybody to help me but I plan to work like a worker bee and get as much accomplished as possible. Here is my pile of stuff that I’ll be hauling to the classroom:

I still have lots to make at the media center, but I have until the second week of August. Most of the things I need are done so, WHEW!

I also want to thank everyone who is following my blog and my TPT store! I REALLY appreciate it. It’s hard starting out as I’m sure many experienced bloggers and TPTs know. I’m still learning about everything so thanks.

Have a buzzin’ great day!

Welcome!

Hi fellow teachers, especially first grade teachers! I’m new to the blogging world as you can see! A little about myself…I’m from the great state of Louisiana. I recently got married to a wonderful man. I teach first grade and I absolutely love it! I love making things for the classroom, especially games and flipcharts. I do have a Teachers Pay Teachers store. It’s still in the {development} stages, but I’m getting there. Well, that’s about it. I would appreciate you following me and visiting my store and I’ll return the favor!

Well since I’m sure we’re all getting ready for the new school year, I thought I’d share some pics of my classroom last year. I’ll be putting up my decorations for this year once everything is decorated!
